Please note that this book has been fully disassembled and re-hand-sewn on five cords and traditionally rebound, not merely re-covered.
Each piece is crafted entirely by hand over many days, through multiple meticulous stages. Created in limited quantities, every book remains a singular object.
This edition of The Hobbit has been bound using high-quality, hand-dyed Italian leather. Each section is hand sewn, ensuring durability and longevity—crafted to be cherished and passed down through generations.
The book boards and spine feature blind-tooled decorations, while the title and author’s name are gilded in 24K gold. A hand-tooled leather bookmark has been added to complement the overall design and harmony of the binding.
For the endpapers, I used handmade marbled paper created by me, carefully selecting the finest sheet specifically for this book. I also marbled the book edges to match the endpapers, giving the volume a unique character.
All processes are performed entirely by hand, without the use of machines, in respect for traditional craftsmanship and the environment.
Bookbinding is a time-intensive craft, but it allows me to place a piece of my soul into every book I create.
