I bound this antique-style journal set in hand-dyed, brown-toned Italian leather. The first journal features Chnoubis, a symbol associated with vitality, protection, healing, and wisdom. The second features the Great Architect, a symbol of divine order and purposeful creation.
The act of writing is, in itself, an act of creation.
Each journal is bound with high-quality leather and filled with 95 gsm light cream-colored blank paper, ideal for both fountain pens (it doesn't bleed through) and sketching. The pages are hand-sewn on five cords with 'dorso liscio'.
I added gold decorations using 24K gold leaf and I aged it. I hand-marbled the endpapers and selected the best matching pair of marbled papers for each journal. The edges of each text block are individually marbled as well.
Every step is carried out by hand, following traditional bookbinding methods and with respect for the environment. Although the process takes time, each journal is bound with care and attention, making every piece unique.
Please note that these journals are not like a Moleskine that bends back on itself. They have a traditional, structured construction: each journal is sewn on five cords and has a rounded and hammered spine. They open smoothly and comfortably for writing, while their construction is designed to last and protect your writing for many years.
